Our Prince is Too Lovely! - Chapter 2 Part 1

2. I aided in exposing a conspiracy.

While Adol’s identity was being exposed by Calva in Sefera, Hausenland was experiencing a short summer.

“Adol’s starting his trials?”

Harland opened his mouth as he sat around a chessboard. His honey-colored hair sparkled in the light of the sun coming from the window.

“That seems to be the case.”

Sitting opposite of him was his younger brother, Norbert. He listlessly picked up his knight piece and moved it.

“And the place he went to was Sefera. Even though we have any decent connection to them.”

The knight Norbert moved was taken down. Still, Norbert didn’t look at all vexed. Instead, he sighed at his older brother concerned about their cousin.

“Well, the goal is to make a connection.”

If a commercial exchange happens between the countries, many more doors will be opened. The first step is important and thus the hardest.

“There’s no need for Adol to work that hard. He’s only 15.”

“You mean he’s already 15,” Norbert wanted to say, but he swallowed them back.

“Why don’t you do something about your expansive overprotectiveness?”

Norbert’s thoroughly exasperated voice made Harland raise an eyebrow as if saying that it was unthinkable.

“Isn’t that natural as someone who’s older? No matter how hard Adol tries, I’ll be king, so don’t you feel bad for him?”

There was no malice in Harland’s words. He was merely stating the undeniable future.

In truth, Harland was the closest to becoming king. Norbert had long abandoned doing trials as more work than they’re worth.

“…At any rate, he’ll probably come back with his tail between his legs.”

Clop. Norbert moved another piece.

“Check.”

When he did, Harland promptly announced “check.” Looking at the board, Norbert had no other moves to make.

Norbert let out a deep sigh and stood up in resignation.

He would lose 80% of the time whenever he played chess with Harland. He thought he could win, but he was actually dancing around in the palm of Harland’s hand.

He could only win when Harland purposely allowed him to.

“When I compete with you, I can see my loss.”

“It’s because you saw and lacked motivation, I beat you today. Is there something on your mind?”

Norbert gave a suggestive laugh at Harland’s question.

“Hm? I was hoping that he would hurry up and self-destruct. …If he did, I can obtain Ray.”

“You got a bad personality.”

Harland chuckled as he began clearing the chessboard. Norbert shrugged his shoulders and murmured.

“Not as bad as you, brother.”

On Adol’s third day in Sefera, he was called by Calva in the morning and walked through the garden again.

The sun’s rays were still faint, so if he had a parasol in hand, he wouldn’t make the same blunder as yesterday.

My thoughts:

It’s a cute story. It was a rather easy story to translate, hence my quick turnover time. Luckily this teaser gave a nice general feel of the story, so if you enjoy it, please buy the novel to support the author. It’s only one volume and the art is pretty cute.

This is my first time using blogger, so if there’s any tips or suggestions on how to make the site better, please let me know. I’ll be taking a week break to work on the next teaser before I start posting it.
